Press:
"The avant-garde storytelling is actually not unlike Steve McQueen’s excellent “Hunger.” The films are quite different, but what they share is a knack for evoking a specific time and place, mostly through atmosphere and visuals. You won’t learn a lot about these people or this time, but you will feel transported into a sort of tone poem dreamlike ambience." - Indiewire

2003/04 Crowfilm, film/video, Hand Processed film. Experimental documentary. 20 minutes
An experimental documentary on crows, partially inspired by Vertov. Premiered at the Full Frame Documentary Film Festival, screened at several other festivals and art galleries around the world, was widely distributed on DVD (by Docurama), inspired a short story by novelist Peter Rock, and received the blessings of Tom Waits and Kathleen Brennen, who personally granted permission to use their song, "Fawn" featured in the opening scene.
2005 Below, experimental video. 7 minutes
An exploration of the mysterious world deep below our city streets. Made up entirely of “Sewer cam” footage, a mobile robotic camera used to inspect the insides of drainage pipes. It played at several festivals and was one of a handful of films selected to represent Portland filmmakers in the traveling exhibition and subsequent DVD release compilation, “Dissecting Portland”, curated by artist Melody Owen.
2006 Urban Exploration Trilogy, experimental, 3 one-minute shorts
3 shorts made for the Fugitive Art Galleries invitation only One Minute Film Festival in Nashville. The festival went on to exhibit at several venues around the world. The shorts, “Rooftop”, “Tunnel”, and “Service Corridor” were a continuation of the theme established with “Below”.
